National Hunter has been preventing fraud for the finance industry since 1993. Our success has been largely due to the collaborative relationship which has been built up between our members.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, limited by guarantee, and owned by our members. We process in excess of 20 million applications per year, via more than 100 separate data feeds.

Our members submit application data to National Hunter (real time or batch processing), and matches against other members' applications are returned, based on a number of system rules which have been refined over time to produce the most predictive matches, and the least number of false-positive matches possible.
These rules help determine whether the information contained within the application is accurate, by cross-matching against other applications in order to spot commonalities or anomalies that are potentially indicative of fraud for further investigation.
We have a robust framework within which any issues can be resolved using a common approach for all members. We have a single policy-making group, who, working together with Experian, our Service providers, have ensured focused strategy and continuous development for the system based on member needs.
